This timeline clearly shows everything you’ll have to go through prior to and as you are applying for undergraduate Medicine. The timeline includes relevant application deadlines for medical schools in both Singapore and the UK—which are usually the two top choices for students in Singapore.

  • Nominate two teacher referees (before Prelims for UK applications; immediately after Prelims for local applications).
  • Prepare your portfolio and other relevant information for your referees.
UK UCAS application

UK Medicine interviews
JC2 December to Post-JC March
  • Prepare for and attend the UK Medicine interviews.
  • Interview offers will start coming in November.
  • Interview dates are in mid-December for several schools (including Oxbridge), though some will be in January (or as late as March) the following year.
  • Some schools will require you to travel to the UK, while others may allow online interviews.
Preparation for local applications
Post-JC January to February
  • Get your portfolio ready (you may continue with attachments or volunteer work).
  • Write your NUS and/or NTU personal statements.
  • Remind teacher referees of your intention to apply.

NUS & NTU applications
Post-JC February to March
  • Put together your NUS and/or NTU applications (the application window is from late February following A Level results release to mid-March).
  • Edit and finalise your NUS and/or NTU personal statements.
  • Prepare for the NUS and/or NTU Medicine interviews.
NUS & NTU Medicine interviews
Post-JC April
  • Prepare for and attend the NUS and/or NTU Medicine interviews.
  • Interviews will commence at the start of April.
  • For NUS, there will be a Focused Skills Assessment (FSA) and Situational Judgement Test (SJT) on two different dates.
  • For NTU, it will be in the form of Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) on only one date.
  • Results will be released at the end of April or in May.
